What’s The Difference between a LTC 101 and LTC 100

What’s The Difference between a LTC 101 and LTC 100? Well, they are basically the same thing. They are issued after you complete the Texas LTC class. When you take the Texas license to carry class the instructor will issue you a certificate of training, the official name for the certificate is either a LTC 101 or a LTC 100. The form you will be issued depends on how you took the class.
LTC 101
The LTC 101 is the certificate of training you will receive if you took the course online. When you take the online LTC class you will be able to download the certificate (LTC 101) as soon as you complete the course. If you have a LTC 101 you do NOT need a LTC 100.
LTC 100
The LTC 100 is the certificate of training you will receive if you took the course in person. It will be issued by the instructor at the end of your class. If you have a LTC 100 you will not need a LTC 101.
Both forms look nearly identical and accomplish the same thing. They are proof that you took and passed the Texas LTC class. DPS will require you to provide them ONE of these forms as proof of training after you apply for your license on the DPS website. Make sure you save a copy for future reference just in case. The certificate of training is valid for two years from the date you took the course regardless if you took it online or in person.
