Vehicle CQB Course

Prerequisite
THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO SHOOT COURSE FOR NEW SHOOTERS. TO ATTEND THIS COURSE YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO OPERATE ALL ASPECTS OF YOUR FIREARM IN A SAFE MANNER WITHOUT GUIDANCE OR ASSISTANCE.
Cost Total: $450
You will pay a $50 non refundable deposit when you register and the remaining $400 will be paid in person on the first day of the class. We require a non refundable deposit because this course has LIMITED seating available.
Worth The Trip
Most people never get the opportunity to attend a course like this. We are bringing in two top military and law enforcement instructors to teach this course at Point Blank CHL in Wichita Falls, Texas. It is worth the trip regardless of where you are coming from.
Introduction
This vehicle CQB (close quarter battle) course is open to the public and law enforcement. Most people never get the opportunity to attend a course like this, it is worth the trip. You will learn how to defend yourself from inside and around a motor vehicle including shooting through the windshield and all other aspects involved in defending yourself from in or around a vehicle.
This course includes both pistol and rifle training (AR OR AK) BUT you CAN attend with a handgun only. See “equipment” below for details. Below are some of the things you will learn in this course.
1. The student will learn the basic principles of handgun/rifle transitioning.
Stages of getting on and staying on target
- Sight Alignment
- Target Acquisition
- Safe Muzzle Control
- Scanning
2. The student will learn the basic principles of firing positions with a handgun/rifle
2.1 Firing Positions
2.1.1 Standing
2.1.2 Kneeling
2.1.3 Prone
2.1.4 Supine
2.1.5 Prostration
3. The student will learn the proper technique of exiting a vehicle while engaging a threat.
3.1 Stages of exiting a vehicle while returning fire.
3.1.1 Unholstering/obtaining your firearm
3.1.2 Follow stages set out in 1.2 above
3.1.3 Unbuckling
3.1.4 Exiting the Vehicle
3.1.5 Engaging the threat “this can occur prior to exiting the vehicle.”
4. The student will learn the proper technique of using a vehicle for cover/concealment.
4.1 Cover and Concealment Zones
4.1.1 Engine compartment
4.1.2 Pillars of vehicle
4.1.3 Trunk compartment
4.1.4 Wheels
5. The student will learn the proper technique of returning fire while utilizing vehicle cover/concealment.
5.1 Learning Objectives
5.1.1 Utilizing distance from the vehicle
5.1.2 Mechanical offset of the handgun/rifle
6. The student will learn the basic principles of engaging a threat through the windshield of a vehicle.
6.1 Stages of shooting through a windshield
6.1.1 Understanding the trajectory
6.1.2 Breaching the windshield “allowing for proper trajectory”
6.1.3 Continue to engage threat
6.1.4 Follow stages set out in 3.1 above “Exiting Vehicle”
Equipment
- Rifle AR or AK with 500 rounds (can attend with handgun only)
- Semi auto handgun at least 9mm with 500 rounds (if not bringing rifle bring 1k handgun rounds)
- Red dot or iron sights are fine
- Belt and OWB handgun holster (NO Blackhawk serpa holster with index finger release allowed)
- Minimum 3 magazines per gun being used
- Weapon mounted light (optional)
- Ear and eye protection (battery powered ear pro recommended)
- First aid kit (recommended)
- Hat, ball cap or helmet
- Weapon cleaning kit (optional)
- Pen/notepad
- Clothing you can get dirty (check weather on class day and dress appropriate)
- Knee pads (optional)
- Plate carrier/load bearing chest rig (optional)
Don’t Have a Rifle?
You CAN attend this course with a handgun only. If you are attending with a handgun only, make sure to bring 1k rounds of ammo for your handgun instead of 500rds.
